Hoverheart Hoverboard Overview

Hoverheart hoverboards, are based in the U.S.A, and produce self balancing easy to use hoverboards which are affordable and packed with features. There are a wide range of models, so when you first decide to check out Hoverheart hoverboards, don’t feel overwhelmed with all the options as it’s easily broken down into a few different types, mostly being aesthetics. In this Hoverheart Hoverboards Review we will do a generalized overview of the products they produce. Choose your color, if you want fancy flashing bright wheels or the added option of Bluetooth but all versions sit on 6.5” tires and are essentially the same minus the few added features. These boards are notably inexpensive comparatively to other hoverboard brands on the market, and of course are certified under the UL2272 Safety Code. (Always make sure any board you’re buying is certified under this). The battery lasts around 80 minutes and has a maximum speed of 8mph or 13km. We think one of flashiest of all on the market, the Hoverheart is a decent board for a great price.

Speed and power & Distance

How fast does it go? What is the range/distance?

Hoverheart models have a maximum speed of approx 8 mph, dependent on your incline, weight of rider, etc. Hoverhearts have dual 250 W motors powered by 36V, 4A batteries allowing you to go up to 12 miles of riding or 80 minutes. Avoid getting stuck hauling the board back home though as it weighs 22lbs.

If you want a board with better speed, check out one of these boards we’ve reviewed:

  • Swagtron T6 12mph 19km/h
  • Segway Minipro 10mph 16km/h
  • Hovertrax 2.0 9mph 14km/h

What age/weight is it suitable for?

The weight capacity of the rider is right on par with most other hoverboards on the market in 2019 at a maximum weight of 220lbs or 100kg.

Can it be used offroad?

Hoverheart is told to be “far from limited to smooth surfaces only” and that it can ride a variety of surfaces on and off road but personally we wouldn’t recommended taking your Hoverheart off road. It does seem to struggle when attempting to cross over even grassy areas or sand and dirt, let’s keep this board inside or on outdoor flat even surfaces maybe?

If you’re looking for an off-roading tank, check out these boards.

Battery life

How long does it take to charge? How long will the battery last for?

The twin 250W motors supply plenty of power to the board. Charging times for the lead-acid battery average in at about 2-3 hours for a full charge. The battery is said to last for 80 minutes straight or around 7 miles.

Battery protection & safety

Battery protection is always set to a high standard nowadays compared to when hoverboards first hit the market, so you shouldn’t have to worry about battery safety with the Hoverheart. It’s been subjected and tested with the usual hundreds of tests to receive the UL 2272 certification that any hoverboard you buy should have. These boards also are covered by an anti-fire plastic material casing. So when it comes to battery safety, you know you’re set.

Design and Ergonomics

All of Hoverheart boards are engineered with two 6.5-inch solidly built rubber tires, therefore you should have no problems with tire punctures or tire pressures along the way when outdoors, but this isn’t the most off capable designed hoverboard on the market for outside. According to the manufacturer, the board should have a range of around 7 miles or 12 kms.

Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?

Hoverheart Hoverboards do not provide a smartphone app (bummer) but some versions have the Bluetooth speakers, which is one of the features that differentiates the models you can choose from for a little bit extra cost.

Does it have lights?

Every version of Hoverheart Hoverboards are designed with lots of LED lights that go all the way around the wheels. This makes the board great for safety in darker conditions and gives it a sleek cool look. Some versions found present LED lights that flash up very brightly with different colors- definitely not a site to be missed when you’re cruising around.

Does it come in different colors?

Hoverheart Hoverboards come in a variety of different colors. LED flashing wheels with chrome pink? No problem – Rainbow flashing with chrome finish? No worries. Gold, gold rose, black, purple, metallic – whatever color suits your personality seems to be available.
As for the downsides, trust me when I say that chrome finish isn’t going to last long if you don’t treat it with extreme care. Quite simply, it peels and scratches off very easily.

Build quality and ease of use

Is it easy to ride?

All Hoverhearts are built and engineered the same way and are just as straight forward as any other hoverboard on the market, feeling plenty stable once you get comfortable but of course presenting a learning curve at the beginning if you’ve never ridden on a hoverboard! The controls are straight forward and easy to figure out. You can hop on and hop off easily as the board is self balancing. This means it will always stand up straight. The Hoverheart hoverboards are also said to stay plenty stable even at its top speed-where as some boards tend to get wobbly reaching peak speeds. (Though the top speed is not super impressive by any means-quite average with the 250W power twin motors). We found the boards tons of fun to ride and easily enough maneuverable providing the smooth ride many are looking for. Keep in mind though, the more weight the slower it will most likely go. The incline possibility is 15 degrees (again, fairly standard) but maybe feeling a little bit underpowered on that level of steepness lacking board confidence.

Side note: The feature of self balancing is for sure necessary but keep in mind it is awesome on level ground, BUT with an unexpected consequence: If you happen to fall or accidentally step off the board while on a hill, it will continue to drive unpredictably, potentially forcing you to anxiously go for a run after it!

Are the Hoverheart Hoverboards waterproof?

Hoverhearts are not rated as waterproof and have no waterproof rating so stay well clear of puddles and don’t use them on wet/rainy days.

Our likes & dislikes of the Hoverheart Hoverboards

Hoverheart Hoverboards are great value for money and packed with great features.

  • The extra bright LED and flashing lights might be a bonus to some consumers.
  • The paint apparently scratches off pretty easily.
  • Not very ideal for rougher terrain even though it’s said to be.
  • A bit faster would be great and a longer battery range but pricewise we suppose this is in line with the product.
